Welcome to Babington house.
If you haven't heard of this place yet, get it on your radar!
It's a beautiful "Manor House" in the middle of Somerset. A bit of a bugger to find (we came from Bath through the tiny, tall hedged British countryside lanes!) But when you arrived it really is a little slice of British heaven!
We arrived around lunch time, I was a little too excited to get there & we decided to have a wonder around the grounds seeing as we were too early to check in.
First stop was the walled garden, bursting with lavender and vegetables.
After a wander around the grounds followed by a lovely bike ride (check out my Instagram billygumbex for more videos and pics) we were able to check in.
Bellies rumbling from today's activities we decided to head for lunch. No photos but let me tell you it was delicious.
If you haven't heard of the Soho house group - where have you been living - they are private, casual hotel where they don't like much photography or phones being used. If a digital detox is needed this is the place to be! They like everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed whilst they're here.
When we got to our room, The Attic, it encased Britain to a tee. Pastel, flowers & China! Typically British in every way! And one of the comfiest marshmallows I've ever slept upon.
We really did have a great stay here. I'd love to visit again. I definitely think the weather made our stay ten times better. We spent the whole time sprawled on loungers or upon the fresh cut grass snoozing the time away in 30 degree heat. Yep the Uk actually gets to those temperatures. Rare, but when it does you just have to pick up a book.. And a cocktail and make the most of it.
