Surely I'm not the only one who gets bored by everyday workouts?
Running is something I feel like I HAVE to do to stay in shape, but I really don't enjoy it, its tedious and boring.. I have no fun whatsoever doing it so I decided to up my game and try some things I do enjoy... other than baking and eating chocolate!

As part of getting healthier (as I posted an easy croissant post the other day..all in moderation though!) I decided I would start fitting in a little more exercise into my life.
After all it does help to keep you happy and shed those unsightly pounds which also equals happiness :)
As most people do after a holiday.. come back with a few pounds to lose right? Well I seemed to have piled a few on and feel so fed up about it I'm taking control and doing something about it...
First things first is getting your brain into gear.. then your butt will follow. I am a total 'I'll work out tomorrow instead' person so I have to do something I enjoy. Secondly get the gear! I think if you have nice workout clothes it does motivate you more.
I do prefer to work out early morning if I can. I like to have a 5 minute chill out when I get up and have some lemon water then I'm ready for whatever I decide to do.
If the weather is good I will go on a walk for around 45 minutes over Cannock Chase. It's so lovely and I don't utilise the beautiful 30 sq miles the chase has to offer. This 45-1 hour walk/jog is around 3-5 miles depending on which route I go. I'm trying to do this twice a week, if I don't get to go over I head to my parents to have 30 minutes on the treadmill, it seems more like a punishment in this weather being indoors!
I have started up swimming again, I totally go through fads with swimming. Honestly if I had a pool at home I would be in it all the time. It's not super expensive to go either, around £3.40 a session. I like to go once a week and swim for an hour trying not to stop for more than a minute and I switch up the stroke, usually between front crawl and breast stroke. I'm all over the shop if I'm backstroking and nobody got time for that!
As I'm quite a stressy person.. just like my momma!.. We try to take too much on, don't like to upset anyone by saying no etc etc..so I decided to start doing a little Yoga & Pilates to make me chill out a little more. Stretching, toning and relaxing all together, although the first few times I did it I used muscles I didn't know existed! I do this for around 30 minutes twice a week.
I recently read Amelia's post on her workout..not like she needs it with her killer figure but.. she's been doing something called ballet bodies which is on a Youtube channel called BeFit. My goodness, I've done this workout twice and it killllllsssss your butt, more reason to do it I suppose.
Then every day now for 30 days I'm going to do the squat challenge.
Starting on 50 squats on day one, you finish off doing 250.. I'm hoping for the Yonce derrière in a months time!
Overall I actually feel more energised and motivated on a daily basis.. this could have something to do with my changed eating habits as well which I'll fill you in on soon.
Thanks for reading.
